Shepley Group Donate £4,000 to Community Initiatives

The Shepley Group have donated £1,000 to Cumbria Community Foundation‘s Winter Warmth Fund, as well as £1,000 to three individual community initiatives, Age UK West Cumbria, Mirehouse Community Centre Association, and Always Another Way.

An average of 300 deaths occur in Cumbria each year due to the effects of cold weather in the winter. Cumbria Community Foundation started the Appeal in 2009 to address this. In that time, it has raised more than £1 million and supported over a thousand older people each winter. Over £134,000 has been raised this year, and you can also help by donating here:

Age UK West Cumbria…

Mirehouse Community Centre Association are dedicated to improving local communities and people-development by giving individuals on universal credit a safe meeting place, financial advice, a café for low-cost nutritious food and access to online courses such as health and safety, risk assessments and fire warden, increasing their skills and chances of potential employment.

Always Another Way offer specialist 1-2-1 support for young adults and children in schools. They currently assist up to 80 people per week, helping to develop positive mental health and assist people that may otherwise be led astray.

The donations have been made via the Shepley Grassroots Fund in collaboration with Cumbria Community Foundation. If you know a community initiative or charity that could benefit from a grant, contact Cumbria Community Foundation for more information here
