Shepley Group Apprentices Attend Lakes College EPA Workshop
We held our first Employer End-Point Assessment (EPA) workshop at Lakes College this week, bringing together more than 30 Shepley Group apprentices who train with Lakes College for an insightful and productive session.
The day kicked off with an introduction from Ryan Christie, followed by guest speakers Tina and Stewart from EngEPA to explain the EPA process for welding and fabrication apprenticeships. John Edmundson also shared key requirements for the pipe welding EPA.
Our apprentices then split into groups, with each team guided by staff members specialising in their apprenticeship standards, supported by Dave Norman.
The session wrapped up with a valuable Q&A session where apprentices had the unique opportunity to connect directly with Shepley staff, the training provider and the EPA organisation, addressing any questions or concerns.
This workshop was a fantastic chance for everyone — from new starters to those nearing their EPA — to better understand the responsibilities of all parties involved in the apprenticeship journey. We’re steadfast in developing future engineers and hope they got the most out of this great experience!
