Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the commercial & financial management and profitable performance of our portfolio of works, located at Lillyhall Workington & Derwent Road.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The key tasks of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing and Management of contract Terms & Conditions.
  • Managing and developing of Trainee QS.
  • Responsible for all Applications for Payments, including all contractual entitlements.
  • Prompt submission of Estimate / Tendering information to the client.
  • Prompt presentation of Final Accounts.
  • Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
  • Managing the Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract Orders.
  • Financial and Commercial Management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.
  • Ensuring that all notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.
  • Responsible for preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.
  • Commercial support to the management team.
  • Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams.
  • Liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information.

Requirements / Criteria

Candidates for this role must be effective team players and should meet the following criteria:

  • Be qualified to Degree level or equivalent 
  • Hold a degree of experience (5+ years)
  • Hold previous Commercial experience within a contracting environment
  • Preferably hold previous experience of working within the engineering/manufacturing sector
  • Be IT literate in Microsoft Office applications, be an advance user of Excel.
  • Possess good communication skills
